I must admit that even with all the errors I was blown away by the first book in the series. I even thought the author could be the next Donald Goines. The second book was a page turner as well. However, by volume 3 Iwas thinking "WTF!!!" Things were just too over the top to ignore. Forget that the main character was truly suppose to be the Devil hooked on crack and immortal. I can even forget those unbelievable hyena scenes, but really annoyed the hell out of me was that each and every woman he raped absolutely enjoyed it! WTF!!!!
By the time I finished reading part IV I stopped believing the author had potential for greatness and simply wondered if he was mentally stable.
In my opinion the series went from friction to science friction. But I was still entertained for the most part. It just seems to me that he published this one before it was finished.

This book should have been incorporated into the other three books as flashbacks. Black Ice could have reflected upon his life while he was committing certain acts (such as when he was skinning Angela alive or while he was confronting Michael and Rachel). In my opinion there was no need to be an entire book of his journey when you could have added a few more pages to the other books and charged an extra dollar. The story was interesting and enlightening but not worth my $10. I would have enjoyed it more as part of the other books. There were so many different moments where you could have added his childhood history.
I do agree it was short. I started reading last night an didn't realize I was on the last two ages!! But, this just makes me want MORE! And the pages offered, were worth their weight in gold. I can't wait for the next one to come out. Some say they didn't feel it needed to find out where Black Ice got his evil from, I disagree. I loved reading the back history, I think it fills in a lot from the first three books. I do hope there is more on his history in the next, but I also want too see where it goes from here. "Daddy's Home!" YES! Mr. Speight keep on writin' the good stuff!
Ok now we know the back story which is always good in a book and I also like how he connected the other series with Tess to Black Ice that's going to be a crazy ride...Shameek I love your vivid imagination... 1 of my favorite authors I mean I gotta REALLY like ya to spend over $5 on ya book lol ok who am I kidding over 99 cents lol Hey they're spoiling me with those books...but seriously I'll pay for a good read no matter the cost!!!!! Besides this a great set up for part 5 because Black Ice never found the sister he helped get away...their child might be the end to him but I think Michael going to shut it down!!!!
Shameek A Speight took us there! He let us know how Black Ice came about finally! The twist and turns with this character will have you shuddering! Black Ice is a BEAST! And Shameek is a great story teller! Stop believe in others who hate his work, because the author knows how to tell a story in everything he writes! Don't believe me, take the time to read at least one of Shameek A Speight books you will see what a lot of people see! A great writer! Five star banger and then some!
I really enjoyed the previous books. I was so excited when the book came out. I was stuck at 1st when I saw the price but because how good the other books were, I gave in. I got situated on my couch & thought that I would be there for a while. I was finished with the book in probably less then an hour. I was so disappointed. Even 2 years later, I've had hopes that the author would have redeemed his self and redid this book. Or at the very least refunded the money to his fans that paid 9.99. I did see later that the price dropped dramatically after all the negative reviews. Well I guess that I can stop checking for this book.
A CHILD OF A CRACKHEAD IV Shameek once again weaves his magic spell on me as a reader of this latest book of his. I am glad that I purchased this book. I feel spoiled from all my anticipation turning into edgy reading every time from Shameek. He has still more to write until I can completely encompass the Black Ice saga to my own satisfaction. I will wait as long as I must for Part V. Meanwhile, I recommend this Part IV along with its predecessors to anyone who can enjoy a murky tale of family dysfunction mixed with pure evil and criminal minds. The power of this character Black Ice is truly legendary for its far-reaching psychological sorcery. Don't miss any part of this worthy and unforgettable series from Shameek A Speight!!!
Now this book was a great read, now we see why Black Ice done went crazy killing folks. His mother is one sick lady. His step father was crazy as well, until Black Ice put some fear into his heart. This book has had me on the edge. I cant wait until book 5 come out. But I see I will have to wait.. But in the mean time I will keep Checking. Black Ice is really the Devil, there is no way anyone can be so cruel. Peeling back folks skin, doing weird things to each others family. Im hoping that 5 will put coming out this year.. Great read, but get someone to read the book before sending it to print. There are so many mistakes in this book. But the story line is amazing..
